This Years' Family Reunion Event is Official....And its FREE!

Hello Family!

Greetings to our Winters and Scales family. It’s time for our Family Reunion once again, and as your Reunion Committee, we’d like for more of you to be able to attend. So, for 2023, we are keeping it simple, so we can keep it free. Yes, you read that right. There are no reunion fees for this year.

The reunion committee is providing the food for Friday’s Meet & Greet and the main meats for Saturday’s BBQ. We ask that you bring a side dish to share on Saturday if you can….Just like our ancestors used to do more than 30 years ago when they got together! Donations are, of course, appreciated.

Background

It’s been a while since we all came back together. What better time than Juneteenth weekend, now an official National Holiday. James Winters and his wife, Senora Scales, were married in Washington, Texas, in 1865, immediately after the Emancipation Proclamation. Born in 1842, the research of James Winters’ roots is ongoing, including that of his two known siblings, Annette, and Alex Winters.

James’ wife, Senora Scales born in 1845, is another story, as I have traced the Scales lineage into the late 1700s. Senora was the oldest child of her parents, Julius Scales (1814) and her mother, Charlotte Smith (1825). So we welcome our Scales cousins! (Check out Senora’s list of siblings below)

Please Share this Event!

So, come out and reconnect with your family, and maybe even meet cousins that perhaps you’ve never met. Please spread the word, bring a dish, and we look forward to seeing you there!

– Your Reunion Committee.

Reunion Registration

Please RSVP, it’s *free

* Reunion T-Shirts are optional, but pre-sales are over.  There will be a limited quantity available on Friday night.

A Quick Note, so you aren’t confused when registering:

On the form below, we will ask you for the names of your attendees so that we can assign colored lanyards and pre-print ID badges based on descendants. If you aren’t sure, that’s OK. Just choose “Don’t Know,”  and we will figure it out for you and update your registration afterward.

Also, we’re asking to differentiate children from adults, as children can tend to eat less. This helps us make decisions for BBQ  purchasing.  Thank you for understanding! If you have any questions, please reach out via email! leonard.mixon@tracinglineage.com
